@transprogram: - Intersex Awareness Day! Intersex people are born with variations in sex characteristics—such as anatomy, hormones, or chromosomes—that don’t fit typical definitions of male or female bodies. Being intersex is different from being transgender or nonbinary. Intersex describes sex characteristics; transgender and nonbinary describe experiences of gender identity. Some intersex people are also trans or nonbinary, and many are not. At TRANS Program, we stand with intersex people in advocating for dignity, bodily autonomy, and the right to make informed decisions about their own bodies. Listen to intersex voices. Respect each person’s identity. Help build a community where everyone belongs. #IntersexAwarenessDay #IntersexRights #BodilyAutonomy #ListenToIntersexVoices #transprogram
