I love this, makes me sad Hermosa neighbors don’t participate as much. Many blocks only have 1-3 houses. So kids have to go to other neighborhoods to be able to trick o treat! We should plan how to get certain blocks to get together and work together to make it what it should for the kids!!! Thank you for putting this together!

When @con_melitex and I started planning this event, we knew we had zero funding but we still moved forward... As community organizers, we understand what it takes to create free, safe spaces within a community. It's never really been about the funding, it's always been about the relationships we've built along the way. We are super grateful for the support of our community leaders and friends like Nancy Valentine, that have donated candy and purchased food for this free event on Halloween. As we continue to organize events for free, we will always keep in mind the vulnerable and marginalized people in our community, like our teenagers. If you have any leftover candy from any of your events, we'll take it 🥹 And if you feel like volunteering the day of, even for an hour, we will take that too. Thank you for your support.
