@joiceglobal: 40 years later, I walked back into a business that helped me when I was homeless. And the owner remembered me. 🙏🏾 At 18, I was living in my Jeep in Los Angeles, trying to build a business with almost nothing. Two Jewish-owned businesses on Pico Boulevard believed in me when I had very little to offer but ambition, positivity, and determination. Today, by pure chance, I walked back into Pico Cleaning Center and reunited with Jacob, one of the men who gave me a shot nearly 40 years ago. His words to me? “You weren’t poor, you were just broke. We knew we backed a winner.” That’s what life is about. Stop judging people by their backgrounds. Give people a chance. Believe in somebody, and they just might believe in you. This is good capitalism. This is what it means to go from the streets to the suites.
