🎬 CHERRY (2021) – When surviving the war is only the beginning of the nightmare. 💔 Before the addiction. Before the bank robberies. Before everything fell apart… there was a young man with dreams and a girl he loved. Tom Holland delivers one of his most emotionally demanding performances in Cherry (2021), portraying a young Army medic whose life spirals into chaos after returning from Iraq. Haunted by the horrors of war and struggling with PTSD, Cherry turns to drugs in a desperate attempt to escape his memories. But the addiction soon consumes everything, dragging his beloved Emily (Ciara Bravo) into the same destructive cycle. As desperation takes over, he begins robbing banks to fund their addiction, risking his freedom, his relationship and ultimately his future. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the filmmakers behind Avengers: Endgame, this devastating crime drama reveals a completely different side of Tom Holland. Based on Nico Walker's semi-autobiographical novel, Cherry explores the consequences of trauma, addiction and the struggle to rebuild a life that has fallen apart. Sometimes the hardest battles begin after you come home. 🥀 💬 Do you think Cherry is one of Tom Holland's most underrated performances?
