@davidburkus: Most managers didn’t get promoted out of their old job. They got a second one stacked on top. Nobody decides to spend most of their week on individual work. It happens one deadline at a time. The deliverable always wins, because someone’s waiting for it. Your people are waiting too. They just never send a reminder. So the fix probably isn’t another time-management system. It’s deciding which piece of the old job you’re finally willing to hand off.
