One of my favorite monologues from Burt is when he’s having the sex talk with Kurt & he says, “Don’t throw yourself around like you don’t matter, because you do matter, Kurt.” It served as a beautiful example of how parents should try to have these kinds of conversations with their kids.

I love Burt in this scene but I honestly feel like we don’t talk enough about the fact that, while what Finn said was wrong, his feelings were still valid. I mean he was a teenage boy who was dealing with his whole life changing & his soon-to-be stepbrother wouldn’t stop putting him in uncomfortable situations. He shouldn’t have used the words he used, but I understand how it all culminated into that for him.

I also love the fact that Burt admits that he used to behave the same way and how ugly it was of him. He doesn’t shy away from his own past bad behavior and he doesn’t make excuses, just acknowledged that he needed to change 😭❤️
