Sometimes, grieving simply looks like this. I think so many times when we think of grief and what it looks like, we picture hysterical crying, outbursts, not being able to get out of bed… and while that is true for many, and I’ve had those moments too, a lot of my grief has looked like this. After losing Everett, instead of always expressing it outwardly through tearsa lot of my processing has happened in quiet moments like this. In my thoughts. Praying. Journaling. Writing. Talking with my counselor. Sharing on here, like a journal. After everything we walked through with the medical trauma, the constant unknown, the so many near-death moments, I think I became more numb than anything. People would always ask how I stayed so “strong” or stable through it all, why I wasn’t falling apart in those moments… and I think this is why. It’s just how I processed it personally. And of course, I do truly believe the Lord gave me a peace that surpassed all understanding in those moments. I’ll never discredit that. But I also think grief just looks so different for every person… and even for the same person, in different seasons. Grief is so broad. It isn’t linear. It’s complex and layered and constantly shifting. Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it’s heavy. And sometimes it’s quiet like this. I think every form and every stage is so important. There’s no right way to grieve. But I do believe turning to the Lord in prayer and being in His Word has been what’s carried me through it all. 🤍 #grief #griefjourney #lifeafterloss #medicalmom ##childloss
