as a server we have hosts who put silverware on the tables so i greet you i don’t think anything ab the silverware unless you say something to me bc im bringing drinks and straws to you at first. secondly , it’s the weather where people start tipping less near Christmas she’s prob getting bad tippers. she is prob having a bad day not your fault she took the frustration out in the wrong way. at least tip 18-20%

We tip based on service provided. It is not mandatory. The cost of the meal is all we owe. If they can’t make it a pleasant experience (ergo SERVICE). Well we will show it in the tip

What makes you an expert in evaluating service. Your tip should never be lower than 15%~18%, your tip should be be 20% or better but you never under any circumstance should you stiff.

its a tip. its not mandatory. when it becomes mandatory it takes away from the meaning. a tip was meant as an reward, or way to say thanks a compliment. not you must tip and it has to be this and that amount

You should never have to hunt your waiter/waitress down for anything. If it takes longer for the food… communication is key by the server so at least you know they are doing their part. Tips are not mandatory…. If so they would automatically be added to the bill with exception of large parties. You were absolutely right and I would have never left more. You should’ve got compensation for your entire bill in my opinion because of her actions and rudeness.
