@kristen.havlik: Mask wearing folks, pls help me out so we can have better access ❤️😷 #CovidConscious #RespiratorMask #Arts #Immunocompromised #ChronicIllness
Agree with the other comments saying air purifiers and including the accessibility info on the flyers. In addition to requiring masks, I would specify they be high quality ones and not baggy blue surgicals. AND actually enforce the policy. I cannot tell you how many times I've been to a "masks required" event and no one was actually following the protocol. Last, a genuine attitude of wanting to be inclusive, not huffing and sighing about having to do it, or making condescending / minimizing comments. Sometimes when I'm in spaces that are trying to adapt to be better and mask, the vibe and attitude is so horrible that it makes me not want to even be there.

For the air purifiers you mentioned, making sure they are the correct kind that can filter viruses/particles the size of covid. Most air purifiers you find on shelves at popular stores are not fit to filter the covid virus.

I’d add knowing the company policy on workers being allowed paid sick time off, in general I prefer supporting spaces that have labor protections in place.

thank you for asking. i think you're on the right path! masked required hours is amazing and my go to and what I feel safest in. air purifiers and air filtration system & limited capacity would be also something I would probably consider going to if not masked required. i think with good air filtration and masked encouraged, that might be a situation I would consider going to.
Having staff/volunteers participating in masking at least for the even this important, even if masked encouraged because guests are more likely to follow organizers/staff.

Better air filtration (through hvac system upgrades, not just a few portable air filters) and far UVC. But unfortunately these cost money—cheapest option would be to require (and provide) masks.

not directly an accessibility ask, but air quality wise, it would be helpful if we had some kind of numbers we could give ( number of air changes per hour, number of purifiers at what level of filtration per x square feet or x people, CO2 ppm < sone number, etc )

besides the mask mandating, listing that policy on the event flyer/info, as well as listing other info like: the fact that theres big/multiple air purifiers that filter viruses, if theres far uvc, if theres an eating policy/a space for guests to exit the main event space and eat there. honestly, the masking is the biggest thing so its hard to think of something more impactful. but in terms of outreach and promo, id recommend finding local covid-aware facebook groups & instagram accounts that post covidsafe events to post your events in! that way, someone who might not otherwise be tuned into theatre but would want to support masked events would find out abt them

Far-UV air handlers and air purifiers. Not just random tiny air purifiers, they need to move a lot of air. Think something along the line of numerous Jade surgically clean air units.

agree on all the air purification comments but like also in the sense that it's relevant even if they would be attending at a mask-only time. covid stays in the air, and a mask-only time surrounded by non-masked times means still walking into dirty air.

an explanation of what measures are being taken. if you have air purifiers everywhere, *say that* on the marketing materials. and do it for all yhe shows not just thr masks required ones

Far- UVC. Clear explanations of the mitigations that are being taken. I can’t do my risk assessment if I don’t have any data.
