It started with kids genuinely asking for better studying conditions. But when they faced violent and unnecessary repression from the police, more people from all age and ethnie joined to support them against the government being fkd up in general. Nothing to do with Islamism or far-left at all, for the most part.

Also of note. The French legal system has a fast tracked legal process. Which overwhelmingly affects foreign nationals. Resulting in high early arrest figures biased towards foreign nationals as their bail is denied and they go straight to prison. But also. A great summary. I’ve noticed a few good videos doing. There was a rally at September 20 in my country (Sona) and they held about 40 people under custody, maybe more from what I know that got caught in the police brutality
