Manchester day trip… and honestly, this one surprised us 😭 Me and my husband were SO excited for the Crystal Maze Live Experience. We’d pre-booked it and genuinely thought it would be such a fun date day… but unfortunately, it just wasn’t for us 🥲 We were grouped with a family of 6 and, within the first few minutes, it genuinely felt like we were interrupting a family day out rather than being part of the experience. You’re not allowed your phones during the experience and all belongings are kept in lockers, then you have your own host who takes you through different rooms with challenges of different abilities, where you complete tasks to earn crystals 💎 For us, it was just really awkward. One person from the group would complete the task while everyone else watched and verbally helped, so as a couple we didn’t really feel involved. We ended up leaving around 10 minutes in because it was SO uncomfortable 😭 BUT — I have to give massive credit to the Crystal Maze staff because they were genuinely lovely. Our host was amazing and the front desk staff were so kind and understanding. They even offered us another time slot, which we really appreciated, but we kindly declined. Would I recommend it as a date night? Personally, no. 😬 Would I recommend it with a group of family or friends? Absolutely! I think the experience would be completely different when you’re with people you know and can actually get involved together. Everyone’s experience will obviously be different, and this is just our honest one ❤️ BUTTTT… we had to turn the frown upside down 😂 So we headed to Grubfellas after seeing their marketing everywhere and honestly… their marketing team got us 😂😭 The staff were super friendly, our food was actually SO good and please appreciate the sandOs on the last slide because OMG 🤤 AND as if they weren’t already lovely enough, they gave us a Kinder brownie AND some sweets on the house 🥹🍫🍬 Such a sweet little gesture and honestly made our visit even better! 🍔 Grubfellas: 8/10 Would definitely go again!
