or the lover slowly takes their mask off, the villain this whole time- hysterically laughing in the heros face. The hero stops in raw horror as they turn around, uncover the flaking mask, and to their demise its their beloved. The hero kneels and weeps how the could be so stupid, idiotic even to murder their own lover. The villain, uncaring pierces the heros heart with their weapon. Letting the two fall into a forever slumber... The villain continues their reign without consequence.
