As a man, I was confused at first. Thank you for explaining that this race was created as safe space for women to participate in this activity without having any potential triggers or unsafe feelings due to any potential previous traumas or just unsafe feelings while running during later times in cities

100% I get you. However #1 problem is the law in the U.S. Legally they can’t exclude men from running. Because that’s seen as gender discrimination and Nike doesn’t want a Lawsuit.

I will never understand this. and this hits me closely. some women in my life wanted to go but feared this would happen so they never signed up. men shouldn't even be allowed to purchase tickets. and then stopped at the entrance.

Paro International Airport is Bhutan's only international airport, set in a narrow Himalayan valley at around 2,200 m (7,300 ft), with the Paro Chhu river running beside it and peaks rising to roughly 5,500 m on either side. The terminal is small and built in traditional Bhutanese style, with painted wood and sloping roofs, so even arriving feels like a first look at the country. It's considered one of the hardest airports in the world to land at because several difficulties stack together. Pilots can't make a long straight approach. They have to fly down the valley between the mountains and make a late, fairly steep turn to line up with the runway, with ridgelines close enough that there's little margin for error. The altitude means thin air, so aircraft need more speed and distance than at a sea-level airport, and the runway is only about 2 km long. Mountain winds and sudden weather changes make conditions unpredictable, and landings are done visually, in daylight and good visibility, which is why delays and cancellations happen. Because of all this, only a small group of specially trained and certified pilots are allowed to fly in. For passengers, the approach is also one of the most scenic in the world, with rice fields, farmhouses, and hillside monasteries passing just outside the window. #paro #bhutan
