You do not need a formal prison cell to commit this offense; simply locking a door, pulling down a shutter, or trapping an individual inside an enclosed space deprives them of their personal liberty and is legally classified as a form of assault. Restricting someone's freedom of movement in this manner violates their constitutional right to personal liberty under Article 14 of the 1992 Constitution, exposing the offender to both criminal prosecution and civil lawsuits for financial damages. Unless a person is conducting a lawful citizen’s arrest for an offense committed on the premises and immediately transferring custody to the police, locking anyone in a shop over a payment dispute, anger, or suspicion is strictly illegal.

They came to our shop and said 820 per one shop(we have two shops) My boss said that’s not what we paid last year . So they should give us the pink paper which states the amount to be paid . They refused so they locked it. We called the office, guess what the amount to be paid was 375 for the two shops. My boss scanned and made payment so they were asked to come open the shop. When they got they those who locked it couldn’t get down from their bus . It was someone else who came to open it😂💔.
