I think about how strange the avatars must to be the Navi. We walk, talk, move, think, everything ENTIRELY differently. Imagine seeing your people in the forest, but they don’t move quite right. I imagine the first meetings between them all must have been VERYYYY uncanny valley.

And the Navi tend to walk more with movement in their torso like their chest(neytiri) or hips!(varang) I imagine they keep their arms still for stalking prey while roaming too, and balance!

Swinging arms is a bipedal evolutionary feature. It drastically reduces the energy consumption on our bodies when walking upright. This is not a habit this is an instinct that the Navi would also naturally have as a bipedal animal

Navis not swinging their arms is stupid if true. Arm swinging is super important to our running efficiency and the Navi are bipedal too. They even have our valgus living knee.

It's because usually tails are used to counter balance. Humans don't have tails, so they counter balance with arm swinging.

This detail is also on the Avatar Frontiers of Pandora game, if you go on 3rd person and start walking you'll notice that your character doesnt swing their arms like we do. I never thought of it like this lol thats so cool
