@beyondthebruise: Weaponized incompetence can be hard to spot because eventually, doing it yourself genuinely feels easier than getting them to do it…. & that’s exactly how you end up carrying everything… while somehow being called “controlling” for it. Pay attention to where their incompetence consistently leaves the responsibility: with you!! #emotionalabuse #traumabond #narcabuse
I had a friend that would deliberately screw up the laundry…turn his girlfriend’s whites pink, so she would tell him she never wanted him to do the laundry again. That way it wasn’t about her not asking, rather telling him she didn’t want him to do it. Then it wasn’t never an argument! 🤦🏻♀️🤬

‘Does it ever get better’ NO ‘Do they learn’ NO ‘’Do you have to fix it’ Yes. Also you are expected to praise them for little thing they do- exhausting. And no I don’t have high standards, we are way past that. And no I’m not a control freak.

They will deliberately destroy whatever is, because they don’t want to do it, but if there out to impress someone, they will become a temporary master at it. 🙏

I had my narc literally intervene in tasks I was taking care of and then ruin the results. They were incompetent but also needed their hand in things. They broke our washer, almost ruined our hot tub, all because they actually required me to fix the problem and to complain that the cleanup took too long.
