@creamyposh: Before Liam was even born, his parents faced a terrifying question: would their little boy survive? ❤️ A routine pregnancy scan revealed a rare condition called frontonasal encephalocele—a sac containing brain tissue and fluid protruding through an opening in his skull. Born in March 2023, Liam spent nearly two weeks in intensive care. He later needed a shunt to drain excess fluid from his brain. In September 2023, just before he turned six months old, specialists at Cincinnati Children’s performed an 11-hour operation to remove the encephalocele and reconstruct his skull and face. His parents were hopeful, but saying goodbye before surgery was deeply emotional. They had already fallen in love with the little face they knew. The operation was successful. Liam later faced further challenges, including intestinal surgery and a cerebral palsy diagnosis. With continued care and his family’s love, he kept moving forward. His mother described him as the strongest person she had ever met—and so very loved. ❤️ Behind these photos is a little boy whose journey means far more than a change in appearance.
