You are going back to work to help make the world a better place for him! Without doctors like you with compassion and empathy what kind of world are we looking at?! We need the people that care in our Healthcare system! So a big thank you for what you do! [Twin hearts]

Money is necessary for survival and you've got student loans on top of that. The first week or two will be rough, but you - and most importantly - he - will be fine.

Also, there are countless people who desperately need a doctor like you to help them save their lives, so they can get home to their families, Dr. Oh. 🥹🩵 You do need to be able to provide for your family, of course, and your son is going to thrive with you as one of his parents. He's also going to be able to tell everyone about his heroic mom, saving lives in part by listening to and advocating for her patients, at one of the darkest times in our country's history. You've got this, on both fronts!

The real question should be what cost are you willing to pay. Is there a part time or side gig you could get that would bridge the difference between your current work income and the additional cost of daycare? For a lot of people, that gap is a lot smaller than they realize.

I dropped down to part time when I returned after having my last baby. Then I eventually quit all together a few months before he turned one. 🫣

You are a multifaceted woman, not that you have to do it all but rather those parts feed you too. Yes the money is part of it but how you serve your community servers your soul as well. You'll find your balance.

it is so hard! I'm sorry this is our reality 😭. But to be truthful, this will fuel something inside you that will lead you to make decisions you never thought possible. Whether that is to start a business, a side gig, start teaching part time, idk, something. You'll see.

I’m no help. I left my career to stay at home for years, after spending my 20’s getting degrees, professional licenses, and experience in my field. I don’t regret a thing.

I quit to stay home, too. I do not regret that, but it did have a huge impact on our finances. You have options I didn’t have though like doing telehealth.
