Active Duty? I’ve been there! Reserves? Been there! Government employee? Yep! Government contractor? Doing that too! 😂 I’ve spent most of my adult life connected to the military and federal government in one way or another. I’ve been the brand-new Sailor trying to figure it all out. I’ve deployed, made rank, led teams, navigated the Reserves, transitioned out of uniform, worked as a federal employee, and experienced life on the contracting side. I’ve dealt with the paperwork, the policies, the leadership challenges, the career changes, the benefits, the frustrations, and the uncertainty of figuring out what’s next. And after all those years, you know what I’ve learned? There’s still SO MUCH I don’t know! That’s one of the reasons I’m trying to grow this community. I don’t want this to be a place where I just talk and everyone else listens. I want us to share what we’ve learned, ask questions, exchange resources, celebrate successes, and help each other navigate the things nobody bothered to explain. Because my experience might help you, but YOUR experience might help someone else. And collectively, we know a whole lot more than any one of us does individually. Whether you’re thinking about joining, currently serving, transitioning, retired, a military spouse, a veteran, or working in the federal space, there’s room for you here. So here’s my ask: ❤️ Follow @MayInMidLife if you haven’t already. 💬 Tell me in the comments where you fit into this community. Active Duty? Reserve? Veteran? Federal employee? Contractor? Military family? 📲 Share this with someone who has experience or knowledge worth passing along. We’re building something here, and I want you to be part of it! #MilitaryCommunity #VeteranTransition #MilitaryLife #FederalEmployees #MayInMidLife
