Pink Pepper Tincture! Pink Peppercorn Tincture! Use the link in my bio to check out my products! How to dilute Pink Pepper! How to dilute Pink Peppercorn! Perfume top notes! Fragrance top notes! Materials: Pink Peppercorn Sous Vide Bath Perfumer's Alcohol Precise digital scale Glass containers Stirring rods Pipette Funnel Mortar and Pestle Filter paper/coffee filter Label Dark glass bottle for storage or store in a dark space. While 1:5 is a standard tincture, a 1:2 ratio (1 part berries to 2 parts alcohol) creates a high-potency stock. Step-by-Step Instructions Step 1: Weights: 50g Pink Pepper + 100g Perfumer's Alcohol. Place your Pink Pepper berries in the freezer for 2–4 hours. Once frozen, pulse them briefly in a clean spice grinder or use a mortar and pestle. You want to break the pink husks and crack the dark seeds, but do not grind them into a fine dust. A coarse texture prevents the alcohol from becoming too cloudy with fine silt. Step 2: Place the 50g of cracked berries into a clean Mason's jar. Pour in the 100g of Perfumer's Alcohol. Seal the lid tightly to prevent evaporation of the fizzy top notes. Step 3: The "Gentle" Sous-Vide Set your Sous-Vide to 35°C (95°F). Never exceed 40°C. Pink pepper's rosy esters are extremely heat-sensitive! Place the jar in the bath for 12 - 18 hours. Give the jar a gentle shake every 3 hours to help the alcohol circulate through the cracked seeds. Step 4: Remove the jar from the bath and place it in the freezer for 6 hours. This helps the heavy waxes and fats (which can cause cloudiness in your final perfume) to settle at the bottom, making the filtration much cleaner. Step 5: Double Filtration First Pass: Pour through a stainless steel mesh to remove the large berry chunks. Second Pass: Pour the liquid through a coffee filter or a lab-grade filter paper. The Squeeze: Use a spoon to press down on the berry pulp in the mesh to recover as much pepper juice as possible. The Scent: It should smell like a fizzy Rose, bright citrus, and a clean, dry spice. The Appearance: A beautiful, clear, pale-pink or golden-amber liquid. Storage: Store in a cool, dark place. Because it is in alcohol, it will be stable for 12–18 months Perfume Raw Materials!
