@news10lansing: A doctor from Okemos is among five people charged in a wide-reaching drug and money laundering scheme. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan on Thursday announced Dr. Prashanti Franklin of Okemos was indicted on charges of conspiracy to illegally distribute prescription drug-controlled substances and related drug and money laundering offenses. The indictment, unsealed Thursday, alleges that from 2018 through September 2024, Clara Wilkerson used her companies, CRW Worldwide, LLC and CRW Development, Inc., to “recruit and pay doctors to illegally prescribe prescription drug-controlled substances at fraudulent medical clinics.” Latanya Wallace-Hardiman was the owner and operator of one of the fraudulent clinics, Woodward Boulevard Medical Building (WBMB). located in Detroit, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

And then I think the story is completely fake. You can't even find doctors like that anymore.

Assuming a dosage unit is the industry standard term meaning a single dose, 3 doctors over 4 years prescribe a daily dose of 3 pills a day would each have roughly 38 patients. Sort of misleading information like they wanted it to sound insane when it’s maybe a bit high at worst. My guess is they’re targeting the cash only doctors because Big Insurance is mad about not getting their money. If the daily dose is 4 units per day that’s only 28-29 patients. Be so ffr 🙄

thats not that much. I knew a legitimate practice that treated patients with serious illnesses where a doctor put out over a million pills a year, but he was seeing pain patients only and seeing them all day. It doesn't mean they are breaking the law.

At one time, several decades ago, this was not uncommon. It was where many street drugs came from. All about the $$$

Meanwhile, somewhere in that very state, likely in that very same city, there are children being abused in ways that should make anybody physically ill. In fact, far more than just one or two here and there, it’s literally taking place everywhere! Then you’ve got law-enforcement allocating all this time and resources to interrupt adults seeking medication from a licensed provider. What a twisted ass we exist in, they should be completely ashamed of themselves and how they exist in this society. Go catch real criminals that are out there violently attacking innocent lives nationwide!
