@oniichanhq: We say goodbye to another legend today 😔 Walter Koenig, beloved by generations as Pavel Chekov in Star Trek: The Original Series, has passed away at 90. With his unmistakable Russian accent, youthful enthusiasm and fierce loyalty to the Enterprise crew, Chekov became far more than the ship’s navigator. He became part of the chemistry that helped turn Star Trek from a 1960s television series into a worldwide cultural phenomenon. Koenig returned as Chekov throughout the franchise, appearing in seven Star Trek feature films, and decades later even lent his voice to President Anton Chekov in Star Trek: Picard. Outside the Enterprise, science-fiction fans also knew him for his acclaimed recurring role as Alfred Bester in Babylon 5. Some of his other memorable acting and voice roles included: • Alfred Bester — Babylon 5 • President Anton Chekov — Star Trek: Picard • Walter Koenig / Himself — Futurama • Vladimir Pavel Maximov — The Real Ghostbusters • Mr. Savic / Biomass — Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters • Colonel Jason Grant — Moontrap • Oro — The Starlost • Sergeant Johnson — Columbo • General Dimitri Sukitov — Son of the Beach • Pastor Dylan — Mad Cowgirl • Coogan — Bone Eater • Ray Nabroski — Neil Stryker and the Tyrant of Time • Professor Timéon — Cowboys & Engines • Pompey — Antony and Cleopatra George Takei remembered Koenig as much more than Chekov, describing him as a writer, teacher, thoughtful man and loyal friend. Koenig also remained deeply connected to Star Trek fans through decades of conventions and appearances. Rest in peace, Walter Koenig. Chekov helped navigate the Enterprise through the stars, while Koenig helped carry Star Trek through generations. Live long and prosper. 🖖🕊️ #walterkoenig #startrek #babylon5 #futurama
