@trendingnewseurope: Britain left the European Union almost a decade ago. Now, some of Europe's biggest powers are openly saying the door could be open for the UK to return. French President Emmanuel Macron responded "Welcome back" when asked about Britain potentially rejoining the Eu. Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Spain would welcome the UK back "with open arms." Germany's ambassador to Britain has also said Berlin would be a partner in supporting a closer relationship if that became the democratic choice of the British people. The comments follow renewed debate in Britain over its long-term relationship with Europe. UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has suggested that options could range from closer cooperation to eventually rejoining the single market, customs union or even the EU itself. But returning would not simply mean reversing Brexit. The UK would have to apply again, negotiate the terms of membership and secure agreement from the EU and its member states. Any future relationship would also come with obligations attached to EU membership, rather than allowing Britain to choose only the benefits it wants. For now, Britain is not rejoining the EU. But after years in which the subject was largely politically off-limits, the possibility is once again part of the national conversation. Would you support Britain rejoining the European Union? #viraliza #f #v #tr #ne
