@maudecpion: And this is the part of infertility that hurts the most ❤️🩹 To everyone who grew up as an only child… I would love for you to share your experience with me. What was it like growing up without siblings? Did you enjoy it, or did you ever wish you had a brother or sister? How do you feel about it now as an adult?
Hi there! I loved being an only child and we have an only child and are so happy to give our daughter everything, time, resources etc. I never felt like I missed out on siblings, am definitely extroverted and have always had a great group of friends who are like family. Also, a sibling is never a guarantee of a good relationship forever, that can be so hit or miss. Only children have some wonderful traits, independence, confidence interacting with adults etc

As an only child I agree with many of you in the comments. As I didn’t know what it was to have a sibling, I never missed that feeling when I was a child. However, now as a conscious adult, I can say it makes me feel so anxious and sad to think about going through their elderly years all alone without no one to rely on ❤️🩹

I have a half brother who is 12 years older than me. So growing up I was basically an only child in the sense that I never did things with him or had a playmate. I never felt a void because my mom did everything with me, and when it wasn’t her, I had my friends and cousins around to play with. I also was happy to be on my own, I would do crafts and I had my own things I loved doing alone. I know you do lots with your little girl, so don’t worry too much about if she’s lonely, one day she’s going to have the best memories with her mom and never think otherwise 🫶🏻 I wouldn’t trade my childhood being the way it was for anything, I didn’t know any different. 🤍✨

If im honest the amount of sibling abuse I’ve heard about and the amount of strained sibling’s relationships, I’m of the opinion you will raise a mentally healthier child without. Overrated!! I don’t have siblings but I have a cousin my age, she spent the whole of my childhood and teenhood tormenting me!

As an only child I never knew what life was like with siblings but I saw my friends with their siblings and was kinda glad I didn’t have that 🤷♀️Iv never felt like Iv missed out. I had a good childhood. As an adult Iv my husband and child is all I need. I have an only and she seems content. My husband is one of 4 and speaks to none. My mum has a brother and they cross roads to ignore each other so it’s never guaranteed in adulthood.

Enfant unique ici, mes amies sont devenues mes soeurs et 30 ans plus tard nous sommes encore très proches. On bâti des relations fortes et ces personnes deviennent nos “chosen siblings” 🩷

Only child, I absolutely ADORED it and still do. I loved being around adults from a young age and preferred sitting at the adults table talking than playing with kids. I never really felt alone, and just surrounded myself with more friends. I think kids will adapt either way! I will be brutally honest and say however, it makes me feel very sad when I think about either of my parents passing away and having to face that without siblings (morbid but the honest truth).

Enfant unique ici. 🥹🩷

I love being an only child. Having your parents full attention is amazing. You never feel ignored or like your problems aren’t as important as your siblings’

I'm surprised by the comments. I was raised as an only child by a single mom and then she had my sister when I was 17. As a child I craved a sibling SO BAD. Someone to share experiences with, childhood, anxiety lol all of it. I longed for a sibling my entire childhood and then finally got one a little too late BUT just to know that I have her (she's 21 now and I'm 37), I'm so grateful. There's also the aspect that I won't be taking care of our mom in her elderly age alone and things like that but bottom line, if you can adopt and it would be a fit for your family, don't forget that is always an option too ♥️or surrogacy

I have a daughter and a son and this video could’ve been of my daughter. She loves pretend play. Meanwhile her brother is off shooting hoops or pucks. Having a sibling doesn’t automatically mean a built in friend if they’re not into the same things. ❤️

Being an only child was so special to me! It brought me closer to my parents and to this day they’re my best friends🩷 my childhood dog was who I considered like my sister in those earlier years.
