Hey I’m a coach at Pasadena we have sessions Thursday night Friday night and Saturday night we have Saturday am 8-10 am freestyles :) we also have adult sessions Wednesdays / Fridays 11:15-12:45 . :) it’s a great rink we have a huge adult following there all amazing :) . We would love to have you . Nice area and street parking :).

same in dallas. we have like 7 rinks and none of them have public or FS after like 3pm. allllwaysssss hockey. when school is out for holiday/summer breaks its awesome because we get weekday evening public skates almost every day. then right back to nothing 😞

As a new hockey player, I also find this frustrating because leagues take up the night schedules, our sticktimes are rare and they’re also in the middle of the day on weekdays. Public skates are useless bc of the children and figure skaters. I have to go to Anaheim at 6:45 in the morning if I want available ice time to practice. The fact that there is no rink in LA proper is SO maddening. All of the schedules suck.

This is such a problem. I don’t want to go at 5 am, or 9-11 am, or 12-1:30?? Like where are the evening sessions 😭😭and how are adults going to the earlier sessions is no one working? 😭🤣

There is one in long beach i think. Like i dont know about times or anything im not that serious about skating. But long beach has a rink. 🤷🏻♀️

i see it’s a universal issue w hockey being prioritized over everything else that takes place on the ice 😒 hope u find a solution to this aka more ice time + space to practice in peace🤞

this is literally why i barely skate anymore between work and school and the horrid rink hours my schedule doesn’t line up with lol i live in jersey with an abundance of ice rinks as well and still all the times suck

I fear it’s not just a prioritization of hockey but only valuing children’s activities at least around me I’m lucky cause my hockey league is one game anytime from 9pm-midnight but that’s once a week but anything after 5 until 9pm is just kids programming figure skating and hockey

idk where you are in la/how far out youre willing to drive but some rinks in the OC will have later publics! off the top of my head anaheim will have 7pm/9pm 1.5hr publics, lakewood will also have 7pm publics for 1.5-2hrs

No same! I just started skating as an adult (25) in sac area, but the only public times are 12:15pm-1:15pm weekdays, and every other week day they add on a 3-5…. Still at work for both of those…On weekends they add on 7-9pm but they’re absolutely PACKED obviously! And once I get to freestyle it doesn’t look like they go past 3pm???? Yet hockey goes until 1am?!?!?

You see a gap in the Market, draw up a business plan focused on adult evening skate sessions & find investors....you will likely learn, ice rinks are business & there isn't enough demand for the thing you want

Wait, it may not be LA County but theres The Cube in Santa Clarita. They may have skate times for adults and i know my nephew goes night skating often.

As a hockey player from northeast, LA just doesn’t have enough rinks. But if you can wrangle up a group of skaters, you can rent private ice times, determine how many skaters you want to invite and split the cost. Hope that helps
