Asuka’s character is truly remarkable and very sad when you learn why she is the way she is. Nobody in Evangelion is truly evil, even Gendo. They are all just broken people. I never really liked the EoE ending, it leaves things on a more negative and apocalyptic note. Characters like Asuka deserve a good ending. The Rebuilds ending was good for everyone to grow up and move on from past trauma, especially for Rei where she learns to be her own unique self as we see in the movies as they progress up until the end when the world changes and she is an autonomous adult with a fixed identity. Yet, I personally loved the manga ending for Asuka and Shinji where their memories of trauma, depression and dread are wiped away and replaced with a more hopeful ending for the two where they meet again naturally in passing with hope they’ll meet again. Everyone deserves a good ending. I don’t think I’ll watch the upcoming Evangelion for that reason because the director is known for being very grim and depressing in his work. The story of these beautiful characters should be put to rest with the happy endings and hopeful beginnings they got at the end of the original manga and/or the Rebuilds. Nice video as well. ❤️

Asuka is such a beautifully written character to where it’s her dynamics with other characters, her mother/father, or her incredibly tragic written love with Shinji. Shes such an amazing character and by far the best character in evangelion to me
