It was fair I really hate how people don’t understand the narrative. Gojo fighting sukuna was literally for him. He finally got to fight someone else that couldn’t connect to others because he was the strongest and able to fully go all out. He really didn’t care if he won or lose. Literally if sukuna wasn’t tryna unalive his students he would probably let him do what he wants and fight him every now and then and step off before he unalives him. You can see it throughout the fight they both enjoyed it

Did I want him to die? No. But his death was the perfect end for him, even though I wanted him to be victorious. Just wish Gege was able to make Sukuna fight him without the bs, then I think people would accept it more

For plot reasons he literally had to die and I guess gege thought up a decent enough death for him but the only actual problem is Sukuna glazers will die on the Sukuna is stronger hill which is quite literally false

I think he would be happy with how things ended. his bff's body can rest, his students became wonderful jujutsu sorcerers who lead jujutsu society down a better path, and for a long while there wasn't a need for the strongest even though there was one. and the two he expected to surpass him became debatably stronger than him. if he were alive he would be satisfied with how the current jujutsu world is.
