@straightarrownews: President Donald Trump said Abdul El-Sayed should have to go through a metal detector to enter the Senate if he wins Michigan’s Senate race. Trump spoke Sunday at a rally in Port Huron, where he was campaigning for Republican Mike Rogers. He also called El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee, “a Jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member.” He offered no evidence.  El-Sayed has denied any ties to the group. If elected, he would be the first Muslim U.S. senator. At his own rally in Grand Rapids the same day, he said, “I will be Senator Mohamed to you, bro.” Rogers and El-Sayed are running for the seat held by retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters. A recent Marist poll shows the race within two points ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
