@mordecaimuriisa: Ladies and gentlemen, two days ago, Andrew Mwenda claimed that Muhoozi Kainerugaba is Uganda’s most popular person and that Ugandans want him to become president. Popular for what, Andrew? Before awarding the trophy, where is the evidence? Where are the polls? Then the internet dug up an old video of Muhoozi delivering a speech in Mbale. My goodness! The cap was going through more changes than a government policy under pressure. On, off, on again! And those unexpected smiles? At some point, you begin wondering whether the cap is the assistant spokesperson! Jokes aside, political leadership requires more than a uniform, military rank and armed escorts. Commanding soldiers is one thing; commanding an audience with your words is another. One awkward speech does not prove someone is unpopular. But if you are going to declare someone Uganda’s most popular man, surely the public is entitled to ask for evidence. Andrew, before handing Muhoozi that imaginary trophy, please explain how popularity is being measured. If it is based on the number of armed escorts, we may need a completely different category! And Muhoozi, next time you address a crowd, please give that cap a break. It has already worked overtime! Ladies and gentlemen, watch the speech and tell me: was that a presidential address, or was the cap trying to stage a coup against the speech?
