All the former SSSR states and warsaw pact countries, at least in eastern Europe, are essentially colonies of the west. Nobody actually cares for Poland, Hungary, Lithuania or Estonia, Romania or any of those countries. Nobody cared when the Soviet Union occupied them for 50 years after WW2 as long as they helped defeat Germany. They are modern colonies of USA, Britain and France
