I agree with you completely. My kids were raised outside running around hopping copperheads on the way to the creek catching crawfish on their own. I even bought them a small fish tank so they could watch the crawfish battle it out as their night light. They were 7 and 9 before I had the other two Lol we traveled to state parks where there were signs there were still live bombs 💣. It wasn’t neglect it was teaching them to live life.

And our gym equipment was a rope you climbed to touch the ceiling with a flimsy mat below. Trampolines with no sides to them.

When we used them you had to do it fast to make it cut better. Now they all use mechanical pencils and never use pencil sharpeners
