@melrobbins: This story about @Ed Mylett’s father brought me to tears. Ed grew up with a dad who struggled with addiction. And one day, while driving to a Little League game, his father pulled over and made him a promise. What happened next changed Ed's life forever. And once you hear this, it might change yours too. On The Mel Robbins Podcast, my friend, bestselling author, and entrepreneur Ed Mylett shares one of the most powerful lessons I've ever heard about love, hope, and why you should never give up on yourself. 🎧 "It’s Not Too Late: The 5 Shifts That Will Change the Rest of Your Year with Ed Mylett" Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube - search "The Mel Robbins Podcast Ed Mylett"

Truth! When I want a drink, I think of how much I love my children and that they deserve me sober. ❤️

3yrs ago on 11/4 I woke up at 6am to get my son ready for soccer.i woke up early to get my stash before my wife woke up and to get rid of the shakes… my wife found my stash n wrote on back of the bottle “thought you weren’t drinking” leaving it half full…of water… I went inside to get him ready with the worst shakes ever.. as I’m putting his shinguards on shaking…he asks “what’s wrong dad” I told him I’m fine,I’ll get through it like I always do bud. As I looked up into his eyes my life flashed before me..he was me…living that same vicious cycle over again that I promised myself would not happen. After coaching that game I went home and laid in the bathtub for 3days,listening to my kids run n play in the house, asking if I’m okay through the door. That was my rock bottom, even after biting a barrel. Hopefully this helps someone else find their want out, cuz the will is up to them.

Linking something that feels bigger than you to a love source can create possibilities you hadn't seen before.

His honesty about what he could promise stands out. Then he kept showing up, day after day. That gave his son something real to trust.

First I love him! Second alcohol destroys so many lives! Learning about grey area drinking opened my eyes.

yeahhhh budddyy 😎 :
is drinking beer a couple times a week considered being an alcoholic?
or is that making false assumptions on someone you don't personally know?

Agree! I was so sad and scared to death to raise 2 blind sons but when my 3 year old blind said “Mommy isn’t this the best day ever?!” I chose to love my both my boys enough to stop crying and figure it out. They are now living on their own in 2 different cities in careers and lives they love! ❤️😎❤️😎 Thanks for sharing this story @Ed Mylett
