Well, my autistic son refuses to wear anything else but the pajama type so it kind of works in our favor. That’s the only way I could get him to dress up because he’s so sensitive. He doesn’t like anything covered in his face. He doesn’t like face paint so the pajama costumes actually work out, but I totally hear where you’re coming from as far asHalloween costumes and preparation has declined since the 80s and 90s for sure.

I'm mostly sad that we don't have trick-or-treaters anymore. Kids used to go in their own neighborhoods. Now it's all about finding the best neighborhood. Which neighborhood gives the best candy. Which neighborhood has haunted houses. Which neighborhood does the best decorations. Which houses are projecting a movie on their front lawn. Not saying it's not cool, but sometimes just spending time in your own neighborhood with what your neighbors have to offer is more special.

I had to wear a coat for trick or treating because my parents forbid me from exposing myself to the cold. So now this makes sense to me.

I wore a plastic bag with strawberry shortcake printed on it and a plastic mask. And one year I was a mime(homemade) and one year I was scarlet from gone with the wind(homemade).that’s it

It depends on the age the older children become they don’t want to dress up and put effort as much as they did when they were little .
