The person wasn’t promoted. The person is needed to fill the role until they find the individual that they want.

That's like getting your dog hyped up for a car ride and taking them to the vet.

Getting the promotion should be the proof you can do the job

I've turned down 3 "promotions" that didn't come with a pay raise

immediate 🚩🚩🚩 I've been here long enough to have been 'promoted', what's another 90 days going to show? Only that the company wants 'free' labor.

A promotion without any extra money is just more work.

If they brought in an external person they wouldnt make them work 90 days in the position at a lower pay

Yeah I’m sorry give me the pay, I’ll sign that first 90 days is a trial and I will go back to the old role and salary if it doesn’t work out.

She did a great job responding and holding her boundary! You know that money would never appear!

There is no way they’d hire someone from outside and hold off on the full salary. The audacity

I think this is pretty common in France, in Romania you get the compensation with the job, if you don't think i'm fit for it don't take me

Very similar to what happened to me. I was told that there would be no pay raise for the first year of my new role, as they deemed it 'professional education'. [Snicker]

I had this happen once. the manager asked if a man had a stroke from the stress what made me think I could handle it. after the probation period they decided to change the job title from supervisor to coordinator. I was barely paid more than the my original job but had to do all the supervisor roles. nothing but discrimination. if anyone keeps data on how many of these stories are women I would love the stats

wouldn't a trial period just start with the new pay and if it doesn't go through they just go back to their old pay?😭 I mean you wouldn't work at a place for 3 months without getting paid right? even if it's a trial period

Basicly we want you to do extra work unpayed for 90 days then we will do the same to the next person

We all know the pay would never catch up. There would always be an excuse as to why the increase wouldn’t happen, & she’d be stuck.
