It's another useless release. If I want fast models, I choose Claude. Openai has always lacked speed. Openai really needs to step up their game. Tibos resets aren't going to cut it anymore

The price comparison is the interesting part here, not just the speed claim. At half the price of the last Terra and one-tenth of Astra, Terra looks like the everyday option, yet the note that OpenAI still recommends Sol or Astra for complex coding raises a useful boundary. I am curious where that boundary sits in practice, because the moment a task needs reliable code, the cheaper model may end up costing more in fixes.

Well I think they got caught flat footed, and reality is they aren’t ready to admit yet that Astra has not had an iteration yet that competes with Opus 5.5 yet on key benchmarks we want as consumers (others it obviously does well)
