@kamauuworld: TAG A MAN WORKING LONG HOURS TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY! The next album #JOHNHENRY is dedicated to all the Strong Healthy Men in the world taking care of their families, people, and communities. (Anyone can enjoy this album! It is also important to me to do my part in redirecting all the energy and conversation assuming the worst in Men or any large group of people. This project is to highlight the best in our Men and to uplift and bring out the best in our boys. This album is dedicated to my Father - whom I’d love, support, and hold high until my dying day. It’s dedicated to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, Kwame Nkrumah, Frederick Douglass, Nat Turner, and all my Forefathers and Paternal Ancestors…this project is for my nephew and little brother, there is nothing Toxic about them. And I will obliterate the projections of any one who would try to mold them into some caricature of a boogeyman. This project is for my Mother, my sister, my Fore-Mothers, and all my Maternal Ancestors - for I will do my part to make sure that their descendants enjoy and are born into the support of strong loving men. Their families will be in tact and they will be protected).

Since I was a little girl, I’ve felt like the devil has had a bounty on my head. Like I’ve been a target since day one, constantly facing battles, pain, and setbacks. Sometimes I wonder why my road has been so hard, or if it’s my own weakness. I’ve come close to being done, yet somehow, I keep escaping. Sometimes it shakes my faith, but I have to remind myself to stand firm in God. I may not understand it, but by His grace, I’m still here.

I normally work 24 hours on, 48 hours off as a firefighter. But for the time being, I'm working 48 on, 24 off, sometimes more, just to make sure the house is good. Man, this hits different.
