[edit] so it WASN’T self-explanatory, i expected a little too much from some. this tiktok is not meant to „made you” ship those pairs, nor to „see the chemistry between them” (though i heavily disagree there is none). it’s, once again, to point out how horribly hateful some people are when it comes to queer spaces online. it’s not at all new information to be aware of that in Sep 2021, new censorship regulations were raised in China. previous, older mihoyo games, were NOT subjected to it before thus why there were more open with showing queer relationships explicitly, now it is not this simple. ESPECIALLY that Genshin is a big game. saying that Genshin „is not queer-friendly” whilst completely ignoring that fact makes you as much ignorant and not at all „more woke” nor on a higher moral ground because you „notice how awful Genshin is to queer rep”. not to mention that this excuse is only another, poor argument for /these/ people to push their hurtful agendas in spaces that used to be queer-friendly. instead of approaching the topic with nuance, you once again belittle the feelings of those who actually feel connected to the rep they’ve been given. i am not saying it forgives all hyv’s sins but utterly missing the background doesn’t make you any better. again, the video is to show that the implications EXIST in this game and it’s not „weird” to notice those implications. it was also a deliberate choice to use THIS, very much a WLW, song in this video, considering some used it specifically to be homophobic and divide Genshin ships into „normal ones” and the „not normal ones”. i hope this clear some things out. i am also sorry if some comments are being unnecessarily hateful—i will be honest, i don’t want to read those and have no mental energy to moderate them, esp as a fellow queer person. take them as these people proving the point. #GenshinImpact #fyp #genshinimpact33 #genshintiktok #viral
