@discouyonscajuncookery: Belle Chasse, Louisiana — French for “Beautiful Hunting Ground.” Long before it became the gateway to Plaquemines Parish, this land was known for its abundant wildlife, attracting Native hunters, French trappers, and early settlers. Today, Belle Chasse is home to one of Louisiana's most important military installations, but its name still remembers the wild marshes and forests that started it all. 🦌⚜️🌾 #WhatsInAName #BelleChasse #WhatsInAName #PlaqueminesParish #FrenchLouisiana #BeautifulHuntingGround #MississippiRiver #DeltaHistory #SouthLouisiana #LouisianaHistory #CajunTok #HistoryTok #LouisianaLife #StoryTime #GulfCoastHistory #LouisianaCulture

But My Ancestors settled in South East Louisiana along Bayou Lafourche. They came over from Brittany(France) after being exilled from Nova Scotia in 1785 on a rather famous ship La Amitie or in Spanish The Amistad. Again I am sorry that the tile image Says Cajun what's in a name. I used the wrong title page,
