can we talk abt how some men are saying alexia putellas’ speech was a waste of time? she was literally speaking up for women and young girls in football, yet people are dismissing her message and insulting those who defend it. the fact that i received sexist remarks and even an ableist slur simply for speaking up proves exactly why feminism is still necessary. this is why we need feminism, because women should never have to fight for basic respect and equality.
