@studynotesaba: Mixed Up Monday: Accuracy vs. Reliability vs. Validity These three show up on the BCBA exam ALL the time, so let's untangle them. ACCURACY: How closely your observed values match the true values of the behavior. Did you record what actually happened? RELIABILITY: Consistency. When the same behavior is measured over and over, do you get the same value each time? VALIDITY: Are you measuring the right thing? A socially significant behavior, the dimension that matters for your question, under the conditions that matter. Exam tip: accurate data are always reliable, but reliable data are NOT always accurate. You can be consistently wrong!
