If this was a daycare centre, they can stagger lunches. So each teacher can have a 30 min break without having to work. At a home daycare, that’s not possible.

Especially for younger children it is actually super helpful to eat with them so they can observe how to handle silverware and model things like putting your plate away or pushing in your chair.

in head start classrooms family style dining is required. teachers are encouraged to eat lunch with the children to model table manners.

we eat with the kids too. we get the same plate they do but we can bring our own meals too if we want.
