@idigdeadstuff.us: 🚨SALTWATER AMPHIBIANS?🚨 🤯 Meet Gerrothorax maritimus 🐸 the newly named Triassic predator from China! Picture a giant salamander mixed with a Pac-Man frog. Now give it gills and armor. NOW stick it at the bottom of the ocean living like an angel shark. There may not be any modern marine amphibians, but it sure looks like there used to be 🦴 #evolution #fossils #dinosaurs #paleontology #stemtiktokcontest Lipin Diao, Ryosuke Motani, Da-yong Jiang, Jiaxu Hao & Shengyu Wang A fully marine stem amphibian from the Late Triassic of China, Nature Ecology & Evolution (2026). Didn't you just upload a video 5 days ago on you criticizing generative Al being used to represent paleontology? If so, why are you representing ai trash like its an up to date reconstruction on Gerrothorax? Yeah the image is unfortunately attached to the paper that came out but as a science communicator, you could've used actual paleoart made by a human being, such as this Gerrothorax reconstruction made by Vitor Silva, which does a much better job on showing what the actual animal would've looked like in life.

this is amazing. I always hypothesized that they would find a marine amphibian. they have all the needed ancestral DNA from fish to go back to salt water, but I'm not an archaeologist and have no access to papers
