@bloombergbusiness: Microsoft will offer buyouts to about 60,000 workers, part of the company’s efforts to trim costs and retool its workforce for the artificial intelligence era. #AI #Tech #jobs #Microsoft #jobmarket
25% of the workforce. This is a sign of things to come… 🤔

If 70% of the economy is consumer spending how is the economy expected to function if people don’t have JOBS!

Why don’t we see AI replacing CEOs and senior executives whose salaries can equal those of more than 100 employees? If AI can perform the work of dozens of employees efficiently and at a lower cost, why isn’t the same principle being applied to top executives? Wouldn’t it make sense for companies to start cutting costs at the top rather than always focusing on ordinary employees?

Has nothing to do with AI 🤖 these days. I have worked with these tools for 4 years and they all make mistakes without care and hallucinate. These tech companies just want to hype up AI because nothing else will. Any companies that do lay off people for this reason should have to pay that person’s salary for life.

In that scenario, one employee ends up doing the work of four—or at the very least, has to oversee the work of AI agents, make decisions in a relentless, assembly-line fashion, and constantly juggle multiple different projects. Welcome to burnout.

Some companies expect a certain amount of people to quit each year. There are times where not as many people leave as expected. Buyouts help budge people out who don’t really wanna be there. This guy is off on what he says
