I'm at the age where I can just be a bi*ch...bit much. They start spewing this crap and I tell them I will only pay for the oil change and I will be taking it to another mechanic. Luckily I have a mechanic that calls before they do anything.

The workers for cars are just so money-hungry, and it sounds like they're potentially making problems with your ride. If I were you, I would have called the cops and told them that they did damage to my vehicle on purpose—just so they could demand more money out of me in order to pay them to fix my car I also would've been recording the whole conversation Before I called the cops, and after the cops came, I would show them and ask the cops if they could ask to see the cameras

This is why my husband (who has a background in mechanics) checks all my friends cars, teaches them how to change tires, change oil, and does basic maintenance. And will use code readers to look for problems and look over the quotes given from the shop for them. He hates when people get taken advantage of by shops and would rather give up his free time by fixing their cars himself, all they have to do is buy their own parts and he’ll install it. (Oh and he helps them find the most affordable options for parts)

One time I took my car to aamco, they couldn’t figure out what the problem was and kept my car for a week 🙄 they said my car needs a new computer to figure out the problem. Took my car back and just took it to the dealership and they said the head gasket just needed to be replaced. A little more expensive but they figured out the problem.
