@crmnallyobsessed: A Tennessee mother and her boyfriend are accused of locking her vulnerable 20-year-old daughter in a dog cage every night in the weeks leading up to her death. According to newly released indictments, Erin Childers was nonverbal, developmentally delayed and had Type 1 diabetes. Investigators say her mother, Rodnie Bradford, purchased a 42-inch dog cage on May 8, and she and her boyfriend, Jason Bennett, began locking Erin inside at night. On May 26, while Bradford was out of town, Bennett texted her that Erin's blood sugar was high, she was acting “out of it” and she would not come out of the cage. According to the indictment, Bradford instructed him to open the cage, leave Erin alone and give her water and crackers. Bennett confirmed he followed those instructions, but investigators say he locked Erin in the cage again that night. Erin died at a Chattanooga hospital the following day. A Bradley County grand jury has indicted both Bradford and Bennett on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult, and conspiracy. Both are scheduled to be arraigned November 2.
