To think I never would have had any idea how special my job was if I never decided to get my license truly baffles me. You dont realize how important your role as a cna/pct is in the success of healthcare until you step onto the floor & everything feels like its up in flames. The job itself is severely demanding both mentally and very much physically, yet it is so rewarding to see your significance in the midst of tragedy. You will feel burnt out, you will want to give up and you will get overwhelmed. But all of those things outweigh the bonds you build, the print you leave and the comfort that your patients feel when you get to spend days with them. Theres been many days where I would refuse to schedule another shift bc the last one felt like too much for me to bounce back from but somehow always end Up coming back bc theres a calling in the back if my head telling me to go in and help those who need it most. The ones who dont have family or friends around, the ones who have no support the ones who are scared to be in the hospital, everyone who just needs someone to make their stay a little less intimidating. My job has made me lose sleep, hurt my health and made me cry many many times. But its just something about how my patients show their appreciation and are able to open up to me...... a random stranger just taking care of them. & that is because as CNAs we make it a priority to make sure our patients feel loved, taken care for, heard and seen. And thats what makes my job so so special. to everyone in healthcare ily give yourself the credit, YOU make this world go round 🥰 & to my CNAs youre more than
