Hey Thelma! I’m not sure if it’s accessible in your area but I suggest taking a look into food grade diatomaceous earth. It helps with roaches and other little pests. You could sprinkle it along the edge of your house.

That is a Palmetto bug. They are in the roach family but do not infest like common roaches. They are just lost. I live in SC in the woods and they live under rotted wood but will come in to find warmth. So I see one from time to time and they freak me out. I use roach bait 2 times a year around my deck and it helps a lot!

I grew up in Florida. We had palmetto bugs. They looked like huge roaches. We didn't have bugs in the house but we would get one that came got in somehow on ocassion.
