@dawanafrica: The UN’s political mission in Somalia ends on 31 October, closing more than 13 years of UN engagement that began in 2013. The Acting Head of UNTMIS says the closure follows a two-year transition requested by the Federal Government and endorsed by the UN Security Council. Mission functions have been handed over to Somali institutions, the UN Country Team, and UNSOS.
