@arthur.colker: Tomorrow is Election Day in #Israel and may be the last chance to end the #Netanyahu government - in this video I attempt to explain the #IsraelElection and the complicated coalition process for #Eisenkot to form a government #בחירות2026
You’re missing one very plausible outcome which is that the elections are inconclusive, and that is followed by a coup against Netanyahu from inside the Likud. Since coming back to lead the party in 2005 he’s faced three inter-party coup attempts, most recently in 2019 when despite facing his third election in under a year and being indicted on corruption charges, Netanyahu managed to fend off a serious challenge from Gideon Sa’ar. And this was before October 7th, Netanyahu’s in a much worse position now. And since the war turned the Charedi draft issue from fringe left-wing lunacy to a fervor which has deeply penetrated all voter demographics, Likud voters want the Charedim to be drafted. They are the less religious right wingers. Bibi’s support is mainly propped up by his cult of personality as the longest ruling Jewish leader since King David. Despite the worst failure in Israeli history, many see him as not just the best but the only man who can lead Israel through this dark time. But the politicians are smarter than that. He has ruled Likud with an iron fist for many years but with everything so against him it’s possible they revolt. But it is also dangerous to underestimate Netanyahu, he is arguably the greatest political tactician of the 21st century.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the parties in the eisenkot bloc joins Netanyahus coalition to avoid collaborating with the Arab parties

this reminds me a lot of the last dutch parliamentary elections. We currently have a minority government.

Flew back to Israel to vote - it could be a stalemate, but I’m feeling way more hopeful than I have anytime since October 7

It doesn’t really matter, they all want to do the same thing. The society is really evil. There will be no changes with this election regardless of the outcome.

by definition, Netanyahu will remain in power until he's forced out. 61 is needed and there's no way either are getting that anytime soon

They will either vote in a genocide supporting monster, or........ (checks notes) a genocide supporting monster..... and the voting public will (checks notes again franically).... completely support the genocide that the genocidal monster commits on the indigenous Palestinian people.

Democracy is not a real thing in a terrorist state. They will start a war overnight so they don’t have to go through so called elections
