Original Video Credit: IG/laura.condy Laura demonstrates a small handheld device designed to help locate cats without relying on a smartphone or GPS. As she approaches her grey-and-white cat, the Tabcat locator displays a series of illuminated lights indicating the strength of the tracking signal. The closer she gets to the animal's collar-mounted tag, the stronger the indication becomes, allowing her to narrow down its location. Unlike GPS trackers, which calculate position using satellite signals, Tabcat uses radio frequency communication between a handheld locator and a lightweight tag attached to the cat's collar. The locator measures the strength of the received signal, providing visual and audible feedback as the user moves closer. Because the system operates directly between the two devices, it does not require cellular coverage, an internet connection, or a monthly subscription. Radio frequency tracking is particularly useful for locating pets hiding beneath furniture, inside sheds, or in nearby gardens where GPS positioning can be unreliable. Tabcat is designed for short-range searches and can help owners pinpoint a cat's hiding place once they are within range. Its compact design also makes it suitable for cats that may find larger GPS collars uncomfortable, offering a straightforward alternative for everyday pet tracking. #shorts #Science #education #learn #invention - @inventionontt
